COAB demands to get back the right of doing internet business
COAB placed 6-point demand against discrimination at human chain
Along with the ISP business, the Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh-COAB indirectly sought the right to do internet providing business. At the same time, these businessmen involved in satellite broadcasting are also hindering the use of domestic and foreign channel broadcasting technology through FTP, apps or web. To achieve this goal, they demanded the repeal of Section 7/6 of the BTRC, calling it a 'black law'. These traders feel that this section of the ISP Licensing Guidelines has created discrimination for them.
On Monday, these demands were announced in a human chain formed in front of the BTRC building in Agargaon, the capital's administrative area.
About fifty some cable operators participated the human chain led by the Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB) president ABM Saiful Hossain Sohel. Ignoring the drizzling, many media workers covered the event. A number of eager people also gathered on the road.

At that time, the participants of the human chain said that for 28 years they have delivered satellite connection from house to house. But because of IP TV, they have fallen behind in this business too.
COAB general secretary Syed Musharraf Ali Chanchal presented 6-point demands on behalf of the organization in the human chain. In his demand, he demanded the cancellation of Section 7/6 of the License Guide Line Act and get the internet business opportunities back to them.
